Kentucky Teacher Scholarship

If you can picture yourself in front of a classroom teaching -- and you are going to require financial assistance for the college education that will make that dream come true – read on! This is a renewable scholarship for full-time students in accredited 2 or 4-year Kentucky universities or colleges. In order to apply, you must reside in Kentucky, be able to provide proof of financial need, and major in education, early childhood education, or special education. In order to prove financial need, go to www.fafsa.ed.gov and complete the free FAFSA application (see note above for complete details). Scholarship awards range from $300 to $5,000. Loan forgiveness is given, after graduation, for teaching in Kentucky schools – one semester for each semester of financial aid; or, two semesters if teaching is done in an area where there is a teaching shortage. Note: if you do not graduate or complete your teaching obligation, the scholarship reverts to a loan and must be repaid. For further information, check out the web at www.kheaa.com.
