London Metropolitan University review - England

The London Metropolitan University was established on 1st August 2002. The university originated by the merger of the University of North London and London Guildhall University. The collaboration is expected to make the subject range wider, enhance flexibility and increase the opportunities for staff and students. The London City Campus has provided 150 years of educational service.

Location :
The London Metropolitan University is situated centered on the city of London and the Aldgate area of East London. The university has two campuses, the London City Campus and the London North Campus.

Library & Learning Resources : The London Metropolitan University library provides printed and online resources to cover the subjects taught at the university. There are subject guides, inter-library loan system and access to other libraries to facilitate learning and research. Photocopying, printing, media services and computing services are available in the library. The electronic database provides e-journals.

Accommodation : Both the campuses of the London Metropolitan University have three halls of residence each. Accommodation consists of single self-catering study bedroom units. The Accommodation Service also provides help regarding private sector accommodation. Allocation of rooms is based on availability. There is special help for international students. There is also the provision for Short Stay Accommodation and Emergency Accommodation. Full-time first year students receive priority regarding allocation of rooms.

Scholarships : The London Metropolitan University offers the LondonMet bursaries for full-time undergraduate UK students. Other learning funds for students in various categories are also available. There are also a number of scholarships and Research Degree Funding available for international students aspiring to join the London Metropolitan University. However, for Research Degree Funding, one must have three years of continuous residency in the UK, excluding the time spent on education.
