Purpose of award: To help Colorado college freshmen with financial need attend colleges in the state.
Eligibility requirements: Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, plan to attend college full-time and have an Expected Family Contribution or parental contribution of "0" on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students should apply to their desired college and submit the FAFSA. Then, nominators and students must submit the Governor's Opportunity Scholarship nomination form to each institution to which the student is applying. A copy should also be sent to the Colorado Commission on Higher Education.
