Purpose of award: To help students pursue careers which involve the communication of ideas
Eligibility requirements: Applicants must be college juniors or seniors, graduate students or recent graduates, have a clearly demonstrated interest in the classical liberal tradition of individual rights and market economies and pursue careers in journalism, film, writing (fiction or nonfiction), publishing or market-oriented public policy. Applicants must also have arranged or applied for an internship, training program or other short-term opportunity related to the intended career. Applicants must submit a written proposal, cover letter, resume, writing sample and two references.

Amount: $2,500 and housing and travel assistance up to $2,500.
Number of awards: Varies
Deadline: March 15 for summer positions or 10 weeks in advance for others.
